Civic Disability Services is seeking a passionate, motivated, and experienced individual to join our growing multidisciplinary team as a Behaviour Support Practitioner Team Leader. Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based behaviour support services to clients, while providing operational and clinical leadership to a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners.

This pivotal role is designed for someone who thrives on leading others, fostering collaboration, and driving best-practice approaches. You will supervise, coach, and mentor junior practitioners, ensuring a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Your leadership will directly impact the development of your team and the positive outcomes achieved for clients across the Sutherland Shire, Sydney Metro, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day operational leadership, support, and clinical supervision to team members, including facilitating peer and clinical supervision sessions.

Manage a varied caseload alongside your leadership duties, working both onsite and within clients’ natural environments, with flexibility for in-person or Telehealth support.

Guide staff in managing restrictive practices, incident reporting ensuring compliance with legislation and NDIS Quality & Safeguards Practice Standards.

Coach, advise, and provide on-the-job support to practitioners and carers, enhancing their skills and knowledge in evidence-based interventions and developmental milestones.





Conducting assessments and provide strategies and support to meet the needs of children and adults in the areas of communication, self-regulation, social skills, self-care participation and inclusion.

Ensure self and team maintain KPIs and service quality.

Support Civic’s growth and service footprint across NSW through operational insight and collaboration.

About You

You are an Advanced or Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner with a proven track record in team leadership. You excel at building relationships, communicating effectively, and adapting to fast-paced, changing environments. Your positive attitude, enthusiasm for change, and commitment to professional growth set you apart.

You will possess:

Advanced or Specialist Behaviour Support NDIS registration

2+ years’ experience as a NDIS Advanced/Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner.

Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or a related field

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, supervising and developing practitioners.

Expertise in conducting evidence-based psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions, particularly with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours.

Strong understanding of the NDIS and Quality & Safeguarding Commission.





An understanding of the requirements of working in the NDIS setting and from a capacity building and person centred approach.

Passion for innovative, practical solutions that empower clients to realise their potential.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage own time, deadline driven with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
