We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our team at AAM Investment Group. Ideally a full time position we can accommodate part time or casual arrangement. Based near Tamworth, this role will enjoy supporting day to day operations across multi-site (beef cattle and poultry) operations.
No two days will be the same, contributing directly to the productivity and efficiency of our agricultural operations. This hands on role is essential to maintaining the health and welfare of our livestock and the upkeep of our farm facilities and infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
- Feeding, watering and monitoring the health and wellbeing of livestock (beef cattle and poultry)
- Assisting with mustering, moving and handling animals safely and humanely
- Maintaining farm facilities, fences, gates and paddocks to ensure they are in good working order
- Operating and maintaining farm equipment and machinery under supervision
- Assisting with routine animal husbandry tasks including shed rounds ensuring equipment repair and maintenance is reported or completed
- Keeping farm areas clean and organised, including sheds, yards and storage facilities
- Supporting the farm team with general labour tasks as required
- Reporting any issues or concerns regarding animal health, safety or farm maintenance to farm management
- Adhering to all site safety, biosecurity protocols and animal welfare standards
What we're looking for
- Experience working on a farm or in a rural environment, either formal or informal
- A strong work ethic and willingness to undertake physical labour in all weather conditions
- Genuine care and respect for animals and commitment to their welfare
- Basic knowledge of livestock handling and farm operations, or willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work including lifting and carrying
- Reliable and punctual approach to work, with reliable transportation
- A valid driver's licence
- Flexibility to work early starts, weekends and public holidays as required
