Production Assistant – Fashion Industry

At dogstar Australia based in Brisbane, we design timeless clothing with a focus on quality, craftsmanship and sustainability. We are looking for a motivated Production Assistant to join our friendly team and support the production process from sampling through to final delivery.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with our designer, local and overseas manufacturers, and our production team to help bring each collection to life.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in developing new collections.
- Assist the design and production team throughout each collection.
- Create garment specification sheets with accurate technical details.
- Assist the Production Coordinator in liaising with local and overseas pattern makers, sample machinists, manufacturers and suppliers.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate deliveries.
- Conduct quality control inspections on samples and finished garments.
- Test fabrics and garments, documenting results accurately.
- Assist with garment costing and pricing.
- Maintain organised production records, garment samples, fabric samples, specification sheets and production documents.
- Communicate with the online and marketing teams to ensure a smooth collection launch.
- Support inventory management and stock control.
- Work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.

About You

You are someone who:





- Has previous experience in garment production or the fashion industry.
- Has a good understanding of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
- Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident using computer software.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work.
- Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Can work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Has a proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Is flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.

As our production is seasonal, flexibility with working hours may occasionally be required during busy periods.
