Position Summary

The Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring that customer demand is fulfilled efficiently through effective production planning, raw material procurement, inventory management and cross-functional supply chain coordination.

This role owns the end-to-end supply planning process by translating sales demand into executable procurement and production plans while optimising inventory levels, manufacturing efficiency and material costs.

The Supply Planner acts as the central coordinator between Sales, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse and Logistics to ensure the right products are available at the right time and at the lowest practical cost.

Key Responsibilities

1. Demand Fulfilment

Own the fulfilment of finished goods demand generated by the Sales Department.

Review customer forecasts, sales orders and inventory positions daily.

Develop supply plans that maximise customer service levels.

Ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery performance.

Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans proactively.

2. Production Planning

Develop daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.

Convert demand forecasts into achievable production plans.

Balance production capacity, labour availability and equipment utilisation.

Coordinate production priorities with manufacturing and operations teams.

Continuously optimise production sequencing to improve operational efficiency.

3. Raw Material Planning & Procurement





Plan procurement requirements based on production schedules and forecast demand.

Ensure sufficient raw material availability to support uninterrupted production.

Monitor supplier lead times and replenishment cycles.

Work closely with Procurement to avoid material shortages or excess stock.

Develop procurement plans that minimise supply chain risk.

4. Inventory Management

Manage raw material inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.

Monitor inventory turnover and slow-moving materials.

Minimise inventory holding costs while maintaining supply continuity.

Conduct inventory analysis and recommend stocking policy improvements.

Support regular stocktakes and inventory accuracy initiatives.

Monitor raw material usage and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Optimise purchasing quantities and production batch sizes.

Reduce waste throughout procurement and manufacturing processes.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency.

Analyse planning performance and recommend operational improvements.

6. Supply Chain Coordination

Coordinate closely with Sales, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse and Logistics.

Ensure alignment between customer demand, procurement and manufacturing capacity.

Resolve planning conflicts and supply chain bottlenecks.

Support new product launches and promotional demand planning.

Maintain accurate planning data within ERP systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering or related discipline.

3+ years of experience in Supply Planning, Production Planning or Supply Chain.

FMCG or food manufacturing experience preferred.

Robust analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. Xero, Unleashed, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
