Melbourne Hospitality People own five established hospitality venues and are currently seeking an Assistant Venue Manager to join our professional team at Mr McCracken.
Mr McCracken is a popular local and sophisticated restaurant and bar within Essendon Fields. The well established venue boasts great food, service and drinks list.
The Assistant Venue Manager duties are as follows:
- Leading and motivating a team during service by coaching, mentoring and training staff members on shift.
- Creating a positive, energetic and professional workplace culture.
- Delivering food and beverage service of the highest standard with a hands on approach to each service period.
- Managing labour, productivity and operational efficiency.
- To liaise closely with and report back to the Venue Manager to ensure that all goals set for the business are being addressed and passed on to the rest of the team.
- To assist the Venue Manager and step into the venue manager role in their absence
- Ensuring open lines of communication with all departments of the business. To ensure all internal communication is maintained with the staff regularly
- Introducing ideas to enhance the culture and ethos of the business.
- Plan, organize,
coordinate and direct other staff members to appropriate tasks pertaining to specific events and functions.
- Regularly maintaining the venue presentation and comfort levels for customers and staff.
- Liaise with Venue Manager and Human Resources regarding staff issues, employment and training.
- Ensuring all company standards, policies & procedures set out by the company are executed.
- Lock up and safe handling of money procedure when required
- Assistance in regular rostering /scheduling, stock takes, ordering, control of cost of goods.

Requirements:
- minimum 1-2 years in venue management.
- solid restaurant and bar experience.
- Availability to work weekends,
- current RSA and Food Handlers certificate,
- varied experience with rostering and POS systems.
