Our workshop is the heart of the business. We are looking for a skilled Fabricator / Welder to join our production team.
About the role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will fabricate signage components and structures from mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum — working from shop drawings through to a finished product ready for paint, powder coat and installation.
Day to day you will:
- Fabricate sign frames, lightboxes, pylon structures, brackets and mounting hardware
- MIG and TIG weld aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel to a high finish standard
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications and cut lists
- Measure, mark out, cut, fold, drill, grind and lines to tolerance
- Assemble and trial-fit structures, including housings for illuminated and LED components
- Prepare completed work for surface finishing and dispatch
- Carry out quality checks against specification before sign-off
- Maintain a clean,
safe and organised work area and comply with all WHS requirements
About you
Essential
- Trade qualification in Engineering – Fabrication (Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator), or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Proven MIG and TIG welding ability, particularly on aluminum
- Confident reading and working directly from technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finish quality — signage is a visual product and welds are often seen
- Reliable, safety‑focused, and comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a small team
- Full working rights in Australia
Highly regarded
- Previous experience in signage, sheet metal or architectural metal fabrication
- Forklift license, EWP (yellow card) and/or Construction Induction (White) Card
- Exposure to CNC routing, folding equipment or powder coat preparation
