Coast and Country Community Services (CCCS) is looking for a welcoming, organised and practical professional to support the daily delivery of our Meals on Wheels service. In this role, you will help prepare and coordinate meal orders, support daily delivery runs, maintain meal stock and provide helpful service to clients, families, volunteers and community members. This prospect is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, can manage a variety of hands‑on and administrative responsibilities, and is committed to delivering a respectful and person‑centred experience.
About the Role
The Meals Assistant will play an important role in supporting the timely and reliable delivery of meals to clients across the local community.
The role may include:
- Preparing frozen meal orders and supporting the dispatch of meals with kitchen employees and drivers.
- Preparing daily meal delivery runs and assisting with driver replacements where required.
- Delivering meals to clients.
- Ensuring changes to client meal orders are actioned accurately.
- Contacting clients regarding missing or incomplete meal orders.
- Responding to phone, email, online and in‑person enquiries from clients, families, volunteers and community members.
- Providing clear information about CCCS services and connecting people with the appropriate internal team.
- Maintaining accurate client records, notes and data entry across relevant systems.
- Processing client payments and assisting with daily financial reconciliation.
- Preparing weekly client packs, including newsletters and menus.
- Maintaining freezer stock levels, completing stock rotation and requesting additional stock when needed.
- Receiving and unloading meal deliveries.
- Supporting volunteer‑related enquiries and working collaboratively with internal teams.
- Identifying potential risks during meal delivery and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Contributing ideas to improve service processes and the client experience.

- Previous experience in a customer-facing, retail, administration, hospitality or similar service role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete accurate administration and data entry.
- Confidence working with clients, families, volunteers and internal teams.
- Ability to complete physical duties associated with preparing, receiving and delivering meal orders.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required checks, training and compliance requirements relevant to the role.
- Previous experience in Meals on Wheels, aged care, disability, transport or community services.
- Experience coordinating deliveries, orders, stock or daily schedules.
- Experience processing customer payments or assisting with financial reconciliation.
- Experience working with volunteers or supporting community‑based programs.
