We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team at Preferred Painting Contractors Pty Ltd, located at Vermont, Victoria 3133. Known for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, and for maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and professionalism.
Key Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
- Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
- Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
- Applying protective coatings and specialty paint finishes
- Cleaning equipment and work areas
- Repairing windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 1 years of relevant experience as a Painter and Decorator
- Sound knowledge of painting materials, surface preparation, and finishing techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
