Ticketed Millwright: Night Shift at Bimeda

Bimeda is seeking a skilled and certified Ticketed Millwright to join our team on the night shift in Cambridge, Ontario. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment and machinery. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing equipment performance to meet production goals. What you'll do

- Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, utilizing your expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct repairs on equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, pumps, motors, and other production machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand equipment needs and provide timely support for any mechanical issues that may arise during operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance equipment performance and maintenance processes.




- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe work setting for yourself and your colleagues.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help develop their skills.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in maintenance practices, applying new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with other departments to support overall operational efficiency.
- Participate in emergency response activities as required, ensuring readiness to address any urgent mechanical issues that may impact production.

Requirements

- Valid Millwright ticket (Red Seal certification preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a thorough understanding of machinery, tools, and maintenance practices.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, with a focus on minimizing equipment downtime.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.




- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and overtime as required.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance management systems and documentation.

Nice to have

- Experience in the animal health or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Certification in additional trades (e.g., electrical, HVAC) would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking maintenance activities.

Skills & tools

- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to millwright tasks.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work with various types of machinery, including CNC machines, conveyor systems, and packaging equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance software and tools for tracking work orders and inventory management.
