About us

Deryan Financial Group is a multi-disciplinary financial services firm in Burnley. We do accounting and tax, mortgage broking, commercial finance, financial planning and SMSF under one roof, so our clients get their whole financial picture handled in one place — and you see how tax work connects to lending, structuring and wealth decisions from day one.

We use AI alongside our people, not instead of them. Modern tools handle the repetitive grunt work, so our accountants spend their time on judgement, review and advice. The goal is better tax advisory for clients, with AI doing the heavy lifting and humans doing the thinking.

The role

You'll start on individual tax returns. That's deliberate. It's where you learn to read source documents properly, spot what's missing, ask the right questions and get comfortable with the ATO's rules on deductions, rental properties and capital gains.

From there, the progression is:

- Individual tax returns and rental schedules

- BAS and GST work

- Sole trader and small business returns

- Company and trust financial statements and tax returns

- Div 7A,



trust distributions and structuring exposure

How we'll train you

We train on real client work, not theory. You'll learn to do the job well and understand the why, with the team around you the whole way — you're never left to figure it out alone. Expect direct mentoring from senior accountants and the principal (CPA, registered tax agent), and expect to be asked to explain your reasoning, not just complete the task.

Who we're looking for

- Accounting degree completed (or final semester)

- Eligible to start the CPA or CA program

- Careful with detail. In this job, close enough is not good enough

- Asks questions rather than guessing

- Comfortable learning new software quickly

- Full Australian working rights

No experience required. We're hiring for attitude and attention to detail and we'll teach the rest.
