Team: Engineering
What you’ll do
- Oversee the release calendar and cadence for all Heidi products, which encompasses web, mobile, and enterprise deployments linked to electronic health records (EHRs), ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Perform assessments of release readiness and make informed go/no-go decisions by analyzing test coverage, scope of changes, dependency risks, and historical incidents, collaborating closely with engineering leads.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for releases that involve multiple teams, uniting engineering, quality assurance, security, support, and customer‑facing departments into a cohesive execution strategy.
- Manage change processes for enterprise health system clients, which includes crafting release notes, communicating with customers, orchestrating staged rollouts,
and ensuring compliance documentation for clinical safety evaluations.
- Guarantee that the release process complies with medical device regulations by liaising with the internal compliance team.
- Enhance DORA metrics, particularly focusing on reducing change lead time and increasing deployment frequency, while maintaining a low change failure rate.
- Work alongside platform engineers to optimize release infrastructure, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, feature flags, canary releases, staged rollouts, and pre‑tested rollback strategies.
- Coordinate emergency fixes and rollbacks when issues occur, leading post‑incident reviews to implement lasting resolutions.
- Ensure the integrity of development environments, confirming that staging environments accurately reflect production and that release branches remain organized across global teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing software releases within a dynamic SaaS setting, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in regulated industries such as healthcare, fintech, or clinical technology.
- A solid technical foundation, enabling you to interpret pipelines, assess risk evaluations, and identify effective rollback strategies, even if you do not write production code.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD practices, monitoring tools, source control techniques, feature flagging, and modern deployment methodologies.
- The ability to maintain composure in high‑pressure situations, with a history of building trust through dependable release management.
- Strong communication skills that cater to both technical teams and enterprise clients, with the ability to translate technical risks into actionable insights for health system chief information officers (CIOs).
- A commitment to speed while ensuring that processes meet the rigorous demands of enterprise healthcare, fostering efficiency in shipping.
- Proficiency in utilizing data to monitor release key performance indicators (KPIs), identify bottlenecks, and support go/no-go decisions with solid evidence.
