About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Officer to join an established education provider based in Perth in a permanent, full-time capacity. This dynamic position sits at the intersection of financial administration, fee compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in managing student accounts, transactional processing, reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting in a fast-paced learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Accounts & Billing: Generate student fee invoices, monitor outstanding balances, arrange flexible payment plans, and manage collections.
- Commission & Fee Administration: Process education agent commissions, handle fee adjustments, and manage student refund applications in accordance with internal policies.
- Transactional Finance: Perform daily bank and ledger reconciliations, process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), and assist with month-end reporting.
- Stakeholder & Student Advisory:
Act as a primary point of contact for financial inquiries, delivering transparent, empathetic communication to a diverse student body.
- Compliance & Audit: Maintain complete, accurate financial records and assist with internal compliance and annual audit preparations.
Requirements
- Sector Experience: Prior experience working within the Education Sector (College, School, or University).
- Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in modern accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar) and intermediate-to-advanced MS Excel skills.
- Cross-Cultural Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, customer-focused approach to supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Clearances: Ability to obtain or hold a current National Police Clearance.
