Working model: Hybrid A little bit about you You're an experienced finance leader with deep technical expertise in financial control, statutory reporting and compliance, ideally gained within a complex, multi-entity organisation. You bring strong judgement, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives, auditors and Boards while leading and developing a high-performing finance team. Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification (essential)

Significant experience in a senior financial control, financial accounting or finance operations leadership role within a complex organisation

Demonstrated experience leading month end, year end, statutory reporting, audit preparation and delivery within agreed timeframes

Demonstrated experience strengthening internal controls, balance sheet governance and financial risk management practices

Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and, ideally, Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission obligations

Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a finance team while managing competing priorities with discretion and resilience About the role The Financial Controller leads financial control, accounting, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance across St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria and its Group entities, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and reliable. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll provide senior finance leadership across month end, year end, balance sheet integrity, accounts payable, banking, treasury, cashflow and investments reporting, financial systems controls, finance policies and external reporting obligations.



This work strengthens the financial control environment to support the Society's mission and financial sustainability.

You'll work closely with the CFO, senior finance colleagues, Executive leaders, auditors, Boards and Committees to ensure strong financial governance. Want the full details? View the Position Description here Key responsibilities Lead the Group financial control function, maintaining a clear control framework across delegations, reconciliations, approvals and issue escalation

Own the month end and year end close process and lead preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting obligations

Maintain strong internal controls over transaction processing, account reconciliations, balance sheet integrity and financial records

Oversee cashflow reporting, banking controls, treasury administration and working capital reporting

Lead internal and external audit planning, preparation and delivery, plus GST, FBT, ACNC and other statutory reporting

Drive continuous improvement of financial control processes, systems and data governance across the Group
