An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial & Management Accountant. Responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial accounting, month-end reporting, statutory compliance and financial analysis that supports the effective operation of Maroochy RSL.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the role maintains the integrity of the Club's financial records, supports continuous improvement of financial processes and provides high quality financial information to assist decision making. The role also provides operational support and leave coverage across Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, while retaining primary responsibility for financial accounting and reporting.

What you'll do:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

- Manage month-end and year-end close processes

- Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments

- Maintain the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations

- Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis

- Prepare Board reporting schedules

- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation

- Prepare cash flow reporting

Compliance & Governance

- Prepare BAS, PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax and Superannuation reporting





- Assist with annual financial statements and external audit

- Maintain strong internal controls and finance policies

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legislation

Business Support & Analysis

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting

- Provide financial analysis to support operational managers

- Monitor key financial KPIs

- Support grant acquittals and community reporting

- Assist with capital expenditure reporting

Operational Finance Support

- Provide leave cover for Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

- Assist finance team members during peak workloads

- Process payroll, supplier payments and debtor transactions when required

- Support banking and cash reconciliations

- Cross-train across finance functions to ensure business continuity

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes

- Improve reporting and automation

- Support finance system enhancements

- Recommend improvements to internal controls

Note: This role has no people management responsibilities

What we're looking for:

- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce

- CPA/CA qualified or working towards

- 3–5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role

- Strong Excel and financial systems skills

- Experience in month-end reporting and statutory compliance

- Hospitality, clubs or not-for-profit experience desirable
