The Graduate Asset Engineer supports asset data analysis, condition assessment, maintenance planning and project scoping activities while developing expertise in asset management practices.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Assets, the role supports the planning, analysis, and improvement of MI's infrastructure assets by assisting with asset management plans, performance monitoring, risk assessments, and capital works planning. The role contributes to data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement initiatives and the integration of technology solutions that support efficient and sustainable service delivery for customers.

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)



and eligibility for membership to Engineers Australia are required as well as data analytics skills and the ability to frame problems/solutions in terms of data/measures and be adaptable to new technologies, systems and ways of working.

What you’ll bring

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) and eligibility for membership to Engineers Australia
- 2-3 years of professional engineering experience in operational, maintenance and/or technical roles.
- Demonstrable data analytics skills with the ability to frame problems/solutions in terms of data/measures
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals relevant to irrigation, water infrastructure, civil, mechanical or electrical assets.
- Adaptable and open to recent technologies, systems and ways of working.
- Willingness to seek guidance, learn from experienced professionals and contribute positively to team objectives.
- A current General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card)
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative working style, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships across teams.
- A strong commitment to safe work practices, WHS requirements and maintaining a safe operating environment.
- A current 'C' class motor vehicle licence.
