About the role

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks across four inpatient wards and the day program. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work autonomously, and the ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues. The role includes:

- Facilitating psychoeducation groups on the 30-bed mental health ward
- Coordinating and facilitating a mental health day program
- Offering individual assessment and treatment to inpatients and day patients (across mental health and rehabilitation wards)
- Coordinating student placements and providing supervision to Provisional Psychologists




- Running education groups for rehabilitation day programs (such as Cardiac and Parkinson’s groups)
- Working closely with other disciplines across all wards, including Doctors, nurses and other Allied Health disciplines

Remuneration will be determined based on your level of experience and qualification. There may be an chance for increased hours according to clinical demand.

Selection Criteria

- Clinical Psychologist Qualification
- Board-Approved status and experience supervising Grade 1 and 2 psychologists
- Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency
- Experience facilitating group
- Competent in CBT, ACT and/or DBT therapy
- Demonstrated competency working within a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Evidence of clinical supervision and ongoing professional development
- Membership with the Australian Psychological Society
- Previous experience working in a Hospital Mental Health setting
- Experience with program development
- Experience with group interventions/dynamics
- Strong organisation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in the use of information technology
