What you'll do
- Design and implement robust data pipelines that facilitate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources into our cloud-based data warehouse.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and ensure that the data architecture supports their analytics requirements.
- Optimize existing data processes and workflows to improve performance and reduce costs associated with data storage and processing.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and systems to ensure clarity and continuity within the team.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
- Work closely with the DevOps team to integrate data solutions with existing cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and best practices in data engineering to continuously improve our data solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to foster a culture of quality and collaboration.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, sharing your expertise in cloud data engineering practices.
- Engage in regular meetings with stakeholders to report on project progress and gather feedback to refine data solutions.
- Contribute to the development of data governance policies to ensure that data is managed and utilized effectively across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure, particularly in services related to data storage and processing.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including but not limited to PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and BigQuery.
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques and best practices for data warehousing.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation and ETL processes.
- Understanding of data pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices.
- Previous experience in the property management or real estate industry is a plus.
