Due to our company’s growth, Lythgo Civil Construction are currently seeking a Plant Operator to join our team based in Geelong.

Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment and can perform a wide range of tasks related to plant operation. As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plant and equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner to achieve the desired project outcomes. To actively contribute to team planning and be committed to strong work productivity and high quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

- Drive and operate various and designated plant/equipment
- Carry out operations as directed and within operators licensed capability
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
- Undertake basic plant and equipment maintenance in accordance with agreed and safe practice




- Maintain plant and equipment log books and complete pre-start checks each morning
- Contribute to effective team work by being proactive, engaged and seeking to complete high quality work in an effective and efficient manner
- Physically able to assist and complete labour tasks when and where required
- Other duties as directed by supervisor

Requirements

- Current HR Driver’s License
- White Card
- Plant and equipment operational experience
- Understanding of WHS requirements
- Working With Children's Check
- Knowledge of hazard assessment and ability to make recommendations to the Leading Hand
- Be punctual, reliable, have pride in your work
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Robust attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously
