About the Roles

Both positions play a crucial role in delivering high-quality case management, assessment, and support services to children, young people, and carers. Whether supporting foster placements or establishing vital kin care arrangements, these roles will directly promote safety, wellbeing, stability, and connections to family and community.

- Foster Care Practitioner: Focuses on supporting foster carers directly, ensuring stable placements for children and young people, and maintaining compliance with legislative and organisational standards. (Includes participation in an on-call roster).

- Kin Care Practitioner: Focuses on identifying and supporting suitable kin care arrangements, facilitating kin carer approvals, and strengthening family connections to foster long-term stability. (Includes participation in an on-call roster).

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality case management and support services to children, young people, and carers.

- Engage directly with children, families, carers, and key stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with the Child Protection Act, relevant policies,



and organisational standards.

- Contribute to continuous service improvement and maintain accurate operational records.

- Participate in an on-call roster to support client needs.

Candidate Profile & Selection Criteria

Our client is looking for motivated individuals with a background in Child Protection or Human Services and a strong commitment to child welfare. To be successful, candidates will possess:

- Qualifications: Diploma level or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Social Work, or a related field.

- Experience: Industry experience in Child Protection, Human Services, or relevant fields.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Child Protection Act and relevant industry standards.

- Skills: Strong time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines, alongside excellent interpersonal and engagement abilities.

- Cultural Awareness: A demonstrated commitment to cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

- Flexibility: Prepared to work flexibly to meet client needs, including participation in an on-call roster.
