Franchise Training Specialist
Retail / QSR | Training | Interstate Travel Are you an experienced retail or hospitality leader who loves developing people, opening stores and helping teams perform at their best?
An established and growing Australian food and coffee franchise network is looking for a Franchise Training Specialist to join its Training team.
This is a hands-on role combining training, new store openings and Franchise Partner development. You’ll work closely with new and existing Franchise Partners, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to successfully operate their businesses.
If you’ve worked as a Store Manager, Multi-Site Manager, Area Manager, Training Manager, Operations Coach or Retail Trainer within QSR, hospitality, food retail or franchising and are ready for your next step, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
Reporting to the Retail Training Team Leader and working as part of a broader Training team, you’ll be responsible for delivering practical, engaging and operationally focused training across a growing franchise network. You’ll spend time both in stores and in structured training environments, supporting Franchise Partners and their teams through initial training, store openings, ownership transfers and ongoing development.
This is not a desk-based training role — you’ll be hands-on, working shoulder-to-shoulder with people in stores and helping translate training into great operational outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver training to new Franchise Partners across front-of-house, supervisory and store management operations.
- Coach Franchise Partners in customer service, shift management, people leadership and day-to-day store operations.
- Support and lead the training component of new store openings and ownership transfers.
- Work alongside operational, food and beverage training specialists to prepare Franchise Partners and their teams for successful store openings.
- Develop individual training plans for new Franchise Partners.
- Facilitate induction programs,
workshops and management training sessions.
- Provide hands-on, shoulder-to-shoulder coaching and training within stores.
- Support the development and certification of training locations across the network.
- Partner with Operations to identify opportunities for additional coaching and development.
- Provide feedback to the Training leadership team to ensure training programs and resources remain practical, relevant and effective.
- Support new product launches and other business initiatives as required.
About You
You don’t necessarily need to come from a formal Learning & Development background. We’re particularly interested in people who have strong operational experience and a genuine passion for coaching and developing others.
You may currently be a Store Manager, Area Manager, Multi-Site Manager, Operations Coach, Training Manager or experienced retail/hospitality leader looking to move into a dedicated training role.
To succeed, you'll ideally bring:
- Experience within QSR, hospitality, food retail, franchising or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Experience training, coaching or developing people on the job.
- Strong operational knowledge and the ability to turn that experience into practical training.
- Confidence facilitating training with individuals and groups.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to build credibility with business owners, managers and frontline team members.
- A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.
- Confidence working independently while being part of a collaborative team.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel interstate regularly.
- An unrestricted driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Qualifications in adult learning or Training & Assessment are highly regarded but not essential. Experience within coffee or a coffee-led retail workplace would also be advantageous but is not essential.
What's In It For You?
This is a fantastic opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of running a store while still using the operational and people leadership skills you've developed throughout your career.
You'll receive
- A market-competitive salary package with annual salary reviews.
- Motor vehicle allowance.
- Additional travel allowance.
- Regular interstate travel.
- The opportunity to work across a large and growing franchise network.
- Exposure to Training, Operations, Franchise Development and Support Centre functions.
- The opportunity to play an important role in new store openings and Franchise Partner success.
- A role where no two weeks look exactly the same.
- An additional day of leave to celebrate your birthday.
- Genuine opportunity to develop your career within an established and growing organisation.
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work as the people you've trained grow in confidence, capability and performance.
Ready for your next move?
If you're passionate about people, training and great retail operations — and you're looking for a role that gets you out from behind a desk — we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity. Applicants with unrestricted Australian working rights from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Please note: This position is being advertised confidentially. Further information about the organisation will be provided to shortlisted candidates during the recruitment process.
