Shape the Future Workforce of Major Projects
CIMIC Group is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor – Training Operations to lead and drive training, workforce capability and compliance initiatives across our projects and operating companies.
This is a strategic role responsible for governing and executing the Training Operations strategy, ensuring workforce capability, competency and compliance requirements are consistently delivered across major projects. You will work closely with project teams, operational leaders, safety professionals and external training partners to support project mobilisation, workforce development, apprenticeships and traineeships, and ongoing compliance outcomes.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, you will provide expert advice, governance and operational support across the business to ensure training and competency requirements are effectively managed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead training and competency requirements for project mobilisations.
- Develop and implement project-specific training plans.
- Partner with HSEQ, Operations and P&C; teams to support workforce readiness.
- Coordinate onboarding, inductions and mandatory compliance training.
- Ensure compliance with training legislation, regulations and client requirements.
- Monitor training completion,
recertification and competency frameworks.
- Conduct compliance audits and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage apprenticeship and traineeship programs across the business.
- Build strong relationships with RTOs, GTOs and key project stakeholders.
- Support tender submissions through workforce planning, skills-gap analysis and capability development initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Training, Education, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in Training Operations, Learning & Development or Workforce Capability may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 6 years' experience in Learning & Development, Training Operations or Workforce Capability within project-based environments.
- Experience managing apprenticeships, traineeships and workforce development programs.
- Strong understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and training compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience implementing workforce capability and training initiatives.
- Experience supporting compliance with employment, training and WHS legislation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to influence operational leaders and build effective partnerships.
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Excel and workforce dashboards.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Oracle HCM, Damstra or similar platforms.
