About the Role
We continue to experience significant growth and demand, and we're looking for a seasoned, ambitious lawyer with at least 4+ years PAE to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their career within the Personal Injury, WorkCover and TAC space, while expanding their expertise in a dynamic, hands‑on legal practice.
In this role, you will:
Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients across WorkCover and TAC cases.
Prepare matters for hearing and trial.
Advise clients on their legal rights, obligations, and entitlements, while formulating effective and strategic case plans.
Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in court proceedings and conferences.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, barristers, and support staff to ensure thorough and efficient case management.
Stay informed of developments in legislation, case law, and relevant legal precedents.
Enjoy autonomy in your practice, while benefiting from the support and mentorship of our experienced team of Law Institute Accredited Specialists.
Contribute to the firm's growth by engaging in networking, client relationship management, and business development initiatives that enhance Maxiom's reputation and client base.
Key Requirements
- 4-5 years' experience in representing individuals who have sustained personal injuries.
- Substantial experience representing injured workers in workers compensation matters is essential.
- Exceptional and sophisticated drafting in plain English, negotiation, and advisory skills.
- A tailored, empathetic approach when working with clients, showing care and compassion.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on progressing your clients matters and providing support to clients and team.
- A growth mindset with enthusiasm for continued learning along with the ability to operate collaboratively within a fast‑paced, dynamic and high‑performing environment.
- Current admission to practice law in Victoria is mandatory.
