Executive Leadership Position

Lead One of Australia's Most Iconic Surf Life Saving Organisations

Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club and the Currumbin Vikings Supporters Association are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our organisation into its next phase of growth and community impact.

You will drive our strategic vision through to 2032, ensuring the commercial success of our hospitality and events operations continues to support lifesaving, sport, youth development and community programs.

- Two iconic beachfront venues in Currumbin
- Hospitality, events and function operations including the Currumbin Vikings Supporters Club, Kinship Café, Seaclusion and VIKA Events

As we look towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond, we are focused on strengthening financial sustainability, expanding our commercial footprint and delivering exceptional outcomes for our members and community.

The Prospect

As General Manager, you will provide strategic and executive leadership across both organisations, with responsibility for:

Strategic Leadership

- Developing and delivering a unified strategic vision through to 2032
- Leading long-term facility, infrastructure and master planning initiatives
- Identifying new revenue opportunities and diversifying income streams




- Positioning the organisation to capitalise on growth opportunities arising from tourism and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Commercial Growth

- Driving revenue growth across hospitality, gaming, food & beverage, memberships, functions and events
- Improving financial performance and operational efficiency
- Developing new commercial ventures and strategic partnerships
- Benchmarking and implementing best-practice commercial operations

Sponsorship & Funding

- Securing major corporate sponsorships and strategic partnerships
- Pursuing government grants and external funding opportunities
- Building relationships with donors, sponsors and key stakeholders
- Developing funding strategies for future capital projects and community initiatives

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

- Working closely with Committees and volunteer leaders
- Representing the organisation with government, community and industry stakeholders
- Strengthening relationships, local government and the broader community
- Enhancing the reputation of Currumbin Vikings as a leading Australian surf life saving organisation

Leadership & Culture

- Building and leading a high-performing team
- Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Supporting alignment between the Supporters Association and Surf Club
- Championing health, safety and wellbeing across the organisation





About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Proven executive leadership experience in hospitality, licensed clubs, sport, tourism, community or commercial environments
- Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to grow revenue and improve financial performance
- Experience leading strategic planning and organisational transformation
- A successful track record securing sponsorships, grants, partnerships or external funding
- Strong financial management capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience working with Boards, Committees or volunteer-based organisations
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and leadership skills
- A genuine passion for community impact and alignment with the values of surf lifesaving

Essential

- Current RMLV, First Aid, RSG & RSA Certificates
- Current Gaming Nominee, Approved Managers License
- The successful applicant will need or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and a Police Check
