General Manager – Trades Services (Fire, Plumbing, Electrical)

About Us

We are an established and growing trades business specializing in Fire, Plumbing, and Electrical services. As we enter our next phase of evolution, we are looking for a high-performing, growth-minded General Manager to lead our day-to-day operations, build solid operational foundations, and transform our business from a successful small enterprise into a scalable, high-performing medium-to-large business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Business Director, the General Manager will take full operational leadership of a team of 20, with 5 direct reports.

Your primary focus will be to streamline workflows, build organizational structure, implement robust systems, and embed standard operating procedures (SOPs) that drive efficiency, accountability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Growth & Scalability: Lead the strategic operational transformation to scale the business safely, profitably, and efficiently.
- Systems & SOP Implementation: Develop, establish, and enforce company policies, operational procedures, and SOPs to optimize daily workflows across field and office teams.
- Organizational Structure & Team Leadership:
- Build out explicit team structures, career pathways, and role descriptions.
- Direct management of 5 in the service delivery team, fostering a strong culture of accountability and performance.
- Define and monitor individual and department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

- Financial Management & Budget Control: Oversee operational budgets, monitor cost controls, review P&L; metrics, and drive margin improvements.
- Process Streamlining: Identify operational bottlenecks across service delivery, job management, and admin to implement continuous improvement.

About You To be successful in this role,



you will have a proven track record of taking small businesses and scaling them into medium/large, structured organizations, ideally within the trades, field services, construction, or maintenance industries. Qualifications & Experience:

- Demonstrated Experience: Proven leadership experience as an Operations Manager, General Manager, or senior business leader scaling a small-to-medium business.
- Systems & Process Mastery: Expertise in creating and implementing policies, SOPs, and job management workflows.
- People Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable (experience managing teams of 20+ with direct reports).
- AI: Tooling the business for removing repetitive steps, creating efficiency, identify opportunity to use AI within the business administration and field documentation, parts and material ordering
- Marketing/Branding: Opening opportunity to greater client base with B2B and building branding that puts Allflow front of mind with clients
- Commercial Acumen: Strong financial management skills with a background in setting and holding budgets and driving business KPIs.
- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to or understanding of trade-based service operations (Fire, Plumbing, Electrical, or similar field service environments) is highly desirable.
