Position Objective The Graduate Accountant provides support to the Senior Accountant in the delivery of financial services to the organisation in line with Regional Housing Limited (RHL) policy, contemporary financial management principles, accounting standards and relevant operational and funding guidelines.

The Graduate Accountant is to undertake transactional processing work, financial data analysis, preparation of periodic financial statements and acquittals as directed by the Financial Controller.

Selection Criteria

- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor’s degree) in Accounting or Finance, or currently working towards completion of

- Sound understanding of financial reporting and analysis,



with the ability to assist in preparing financial reports and funding proposals with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

- Sound understanding of transactional finance functions and financial reconciliations

- Understanding of contemporary financial management practices and an awareness of public funding requirements
- A commitment to customer service, and demonstrated productive time management and organisational skills

- Well-developed interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with a range of people

- Sound computing skills across the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn financial systems and undertake spreadsheet-related tasks
