Graph Data Developer - WA Gov

Key accountabilities/experience: As a Graph Data Developer , you will have ideally been part of the successful delivery of graph‑based data and analytics capabilities, including end‑to‑end solution design, data modelling, development, testing, and engagement with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality graph analytics solutions.
- Responsible for the design, development and implementation of graph data capabilities to meet analytical, operational and performance requirements.
- Design, implement and optimise graph database architectures, including schema design, graph modelling, and best‑practice Neo4j implementation.
- Develop and integrate graph analytics solutions within existing platforms and broader enterprise systems.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, apply established architectural patterns, and recommend improvements aligned with broader technical direction.
- Deliver development tasks and project components on time and to a high standard, including testing, documentation and deployment activities.
- Collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve issues and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal form to support shared understanding.
- Demonstrate strong integrity and adherence to information security policies to ensure confidentiality and reliability of information holdings.
Graph Data Developer Skills Essential Technical / Non-Technical
- Demonstrate experience designing and optimising graph database solutions using Neo4j and Cypher.
- Strong programming experience in Python for graph ingestion, transformation and orchestration.
- Experience developing and maintaining data orchestration pipelines and supporting SQL transformations.
- Ability to evaluate technical options and implement pragmatic solutions driven by user and business value.
- Ability to contribute effectively within an in‑flight, fast‑paced project environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data and graph performance issues
Highly Desirable Technical / Non-Technical
- Experience integrating graph data science, machine learning, NLP or LLM‑driven components into analytics platforms.
- Experience working across enterprise data platforms and cloud‑based analytics environments.
- Experience working in a multi‑vendor or enterprise‑scale analytics environment.
- Experience providing expert technical advice and recommendations in relation to graph analytics and data capability development.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps Kanban Boards.
- Public sector or policing domain experience.
Graph Data Developer Experience and Qualifications Contractor Personnel at this level must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction. Minimum experience and qualifications of a Graph Data Developer should include, but is not limited to:
- A qualification in a quantitative discipline (such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field), and/or demonstrated qualified experience in graph analytics, graph databases, or a related technical domain.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Python and Cypher programming.
