About the Role
As a Funeral Director, you'll work closely with families to arrange and deliver funeral services with compassion, dignity and professionalism. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Meeting with families to arrange personalised funeral services.
- Coordinating all aspects of funeral planning and service delivery.
- Conducting funeral services with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail.
- Providing care and support to families throughout the funeral process.
- Preparing documentation and completing administrative duties accurately.
- Participating in an after-hours on-call roster.
- Maintaining funeral vehicles, facilities and presentation standards.
- Building positive relationships within the local community and with clergy, celebrants and service providers.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, respectful and empathetic nature.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently as well as within a close-knit team.
- Professional presentation and high personal standards.
- Flexibility to participate in an after-hours roster.
- A current unrestricted driver's licence.
- Confidence using computers and general administrative systems.
- Previous funeral industry experience is highly regarded but not essential. Applicants with experience in healthcare, customer service, emergency services, hospitality or other caring professions are encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
