About the role:

In this part-time permanent role (working weekends), you will be responsible for preparation, cooking and delivery of high quality nutritious meals to residents whilst ensuring a high standard of food safety is maintained, supervising a dedicated team of staff.Specific responsibilities will include:

Preparing, cooking, presenting and serving of high quality food to residents in accordance with food safety legislation

Leading and managing a team of qualified food services assistants

Ensuring compliance with the food safety plan at all times

Ensuring the kitchen area and equipment is cleaned and maintained to an appropriate standard

Developing and maintaining key relationships with residents, staff and facility management

Assuming the role of Food Safety Supervisor at the site.





The chef role involves a diverse range of duties that require skill, experience, and independent judgment in a commercial kitchen setting. This is a leadership position that involves managerial tasks such as planning menus, monitoring the quality of dishes, preparing and cooking food and advising on cooking procedures.

About you:

At least 12-18 months experience as a chef in commercial kitchen environment in residential aged care setting

Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage and coach a team

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of diverse and modified dietary requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Passion for food and the preparation of appetising, fresh and nutritious meals for our residents.
