About Umps
Umps makes personal alarms for older Australians and New Zealanders. We're a small team of 13, and we work with aged care providers, retirement villages, and allied health professionals across Australia and Current Zealand.
The role
We're a growing startup building up-to-date marketing systems at the intersection of technology, AI and aged care, and we're looking for a reliable, hands-on videographer / content producer to help us produce videos.
You'll start close to the ground: filming and editing instructional and how-to videos that help our customers set up and use our products. As you find your feet, you'll take on more — videos that help us communicate with our audiences of older people, their families, and the aged care providers we work with. It's a rare chance to own real video work end to end early on, and to grow into more creative, audience-facing content over time.
We're not looking for a big agency CV — this is a junior-friendly role. What matters is that you can shoot and edit a clear, watchable video, you're organised,
and you're happy to run with a brief once you know what's needed.
What you'll be doing
- Filming short instructional and how-to product videos. Check out our YouTube channel for a few examples;
- Using modern AI tools for tasks (for example generate voiceovers using ElevenLabs). We don't plan to hire voiceover artists, and want to enable you end-to-end;
- Editing footage into clear, polished videos ready to share;
- Over time, working on video content that supports how we communicate with our different audiences; and
- Other video and content tasks as they come up.
What we're looking for
- Some experience shooting and editing video — this can be study, personal projects, freelance or work. A showreel or samples of your work are a real plus.
- A good eye for framing, lighting and pacing, and an ear for clean audio.
- Comfortable with editing software (please outline the tools you use most in your application) and operating camera and lighting gear.
- Detail-oriented: our audience is older people and their families, so clarity and accuracy matter.
- Happy to work with clear direction, taking some initiative once you know the ropes.
- Australian work rights (visa holders accepted, subject to your visa's work-hour conditions).
