About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant in Nursing to join our Mary Potter Nursing Home team Monday to Thursday 7am - 3.00pm. This is a part-time position offering flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. As an Assistant in Nursing, you will provide essential support to our nursing team, assisting with the day-to-day care and comfort of aged care residents. This role is fundamental to maintaining the high standards of care we provide and contributes significantly to creating a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

- Providing personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing
- Assisting residents with mobility and transferring safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Supporting registered nurses with routine clinical tasks and observations
- Maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Responding promptly and compassionately to resident requests and concerns
- Assisting with feeding and hydration support as required
- Communicating effectively with the nursing team and other staff members about resident needs and changes
- Maintaining accurate and confidential resident records as directed




- Contributing to a positive and supportive atmosphere for residents and fellow team members

What we're looking for

- A Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification
- Current First Aid certification highly preferred
- A genuine passion for providing compassionate care to older adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen actively and respond sensitively
- Physical capability to assist residents with mobility and personal care tasks safely
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from registered nurses
- Reliability and commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism
- Understanding of aged care principles, including dignity, respect and person-centred care
- Relevant experience in aged care or healthcare settings is highly valued
- Ability to work respectfully and compassionately within a multicultural and diverse setting
- Police check and rights to work these hours are required
