About Us
You may have seen us at Mecca, spotted us in one of the 7,000+ stockists globally, or heard someone rave about our award-winning products.
We're Lanolips: Australia's iconic lip and skincare brand. Founded by Kirsten Carriol over 15 years ago, we've grown into a globally recognised business, creating products loved around the world and known for our signature use of natural lanolin.
Behind the brand is a passionate, hardworking team based in our sunlit Moore Park HQ. We move quickly, take pride in our work, support one another, and still find time to make it to the Wednesday farmers' market around the corner from us.
About the Role
Lanolips is seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance to partner with the CEO, General Manager and Board to support the next phase of growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic financial oversight with operational involvement across a growing global business. You will lead the finance function end-to-end while overseeing our production and logistics teams, ensuring strong alignment between financial performance, operational execution and business growth.
We're looking for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, thinks independently, challenges the status quo and takes ownership. This is an opportunity to influence key business decisions, drive performance and make a meaningful impact on a well-loved global brand.
About You
- CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
- Experience within a private equity-backed business and/or high-growth environment, with exposure to funding rounds, investment activities, acquisitions or sale processes viewed favourably.
- Robust experience in an inventory-led business, ideally across beauty, fashion or FMCG, with a solid understanding of supply chains, inventory management, wholesale operations and the commercial drivers of performance.
- Comfortable operating across global markets, warehouses and manufacturing partners, with experience managing international supply chains and offshore sourcing.
- A proactive self-starter who challenges the status quo, takes ownership and continuously seeks opportunities to improve, learn and grow.
- Technology-forward and comfortable implementing new systems, automation and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, reporting and decision-making.
- Commercial,
hands-on and detail-oriented, with a calm, pragmatic approach in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities Budgets & Growth
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, developing robust 12-month financial plans and clear growth assumptions across the business.
- Build and enhance commercial analytics capabilities, providing visibility across sales, product, channel, customer and margin performance to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop long-term financial projections and growth models, partnering with the GM and CEO to define measurable growth targets and support investment, fundraising or sale-process readiness as required.
- Champion a growth mindset across the business, helping drive aggressive growth in a highly competitive global market.
Stock & Inventory (Our Biggest Cost, and Your Happy Place)
- Own inventory performance end-to-end, including forecasting, inventory holdings, raw materials and componentry planning, ensuring optimal stock levels across finished goods and key strategic inputs such as lanolin.
- Monitor inventory coverage, ageing stock, long-tail SKUs and obsolescence, driving initiatives that improve inventory efficiency, cash flow and overall business performance.
- Partner closely with the production and logistics teams to optimise purchasing decisions, inventory planning and supply chain outcomes across the business.
Profitability & COGS
- Own product profitability, including the development and ongoing refinement of COGS models across freight, foreign exchange and supplier pricing.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins through commercial analysis, supplier negotiations and supply chain optimisation.
- Lead supplier, freight and manufacturing negotiations, while acting as a key escalation point across logistics and 3PL partnerships.
- Build trusted relationships with manufacturers and strategic partners to support operational excellence and long-term growth.
Reporting, compliance & the Board
- Own all financial reporting, core finance operations,
month-end close, management accounts and variance analysis.
- Lead budgeting, cash flow forecasting and working capital management, while overseeing inventory valuation, stock provisions, stocktake reconciliations and inventory planning to optimise cash flow and business performance.
- Prepare and present board packs, KPIs and financial commentary that provide clear, actionable insights for leadership and the Board.
- Oversee tax, statutory reporting, governance and legal compliance across our Australian, US and UK entities, partnering with external advisors to manage risk, obligations and trademark matters.
- Lead and develop the finance, production and logistics teams, fostering strong financial controls, operational excellence and a high-performance culture.
Structure & modelling
- Evaluate business structures, supply chain models and 3PL partnerships, providing commercial recommendations that improve scalability, efficiency and profitability.
- Deliver commercial modelling, profitability analysis and strategic insights to support business growth, investment opportunities and key decision-making.
- Oversee transfer pricing, intercompany transactions and foreign exchange exposures, ensuring financial efficiency, risk management and compliance across global operations.
Systems, Data & AI
- Lead the evolution of our internal ERP platform, ensuring robust data structures, streamlined processes and the effective use of AI and automation to support business growth.
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, reporting and business decision-making.
