What you'll do
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and manufacturers of vehicles suitable for export.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure favorable contracts that align with company objectives.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate the transportation of vehicles to international destinations, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform purchasing strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs officials.
- Prepare and analyze reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and market conditions to guide decision-making.
- Ensure that all procurement processes adhere to company policies and industry standards, including quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events to network with potential suppliers and stay informed about the latest developments in the automotive sector.
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets and forecast future purchasing needs based on sales projections.
- Provide training and support to junior team members, sharing your expertise in export buying and procurement best practices.
- Address any issues that arise during the procurement process, working to resolve them efficiently and effectively.
- Stay updated on international trade regulations and tariffs that may impact vehicle exports, ensuring compliance at all times.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within the automotive industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and pricing.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and export processes.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a quick-paced environment.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
