Business Development Manager – Performance Chemicals Division

Reporting to the Sales Director, A&I; Coatings is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Performance Chemicals Division to join our expanding Sydney team on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position designed to drive current business growth and expand our market presence across the performance chemicals sector. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the overall revenue growth objectives of the division.

Key responsibilities

- Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities within the performance chemicals market.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, prospective customers and industry stakeholders
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitors and potential growth areas
- Prepare compelling proposals, presentations and tenders to support sales opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams including product development, technical services and operations to support customer requirements
- Manage the sales pipeline and forecast new business revenue accurately and consistently
- Participate in industry events, trade shows and networking activities to generate leads and enhance market visibility
- Negotiate terms and close deals with new clients whilst ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives
- Provide regular reporting on business development activities, pipeline status and market intelligence

What we're looking for

- Proven track record of success in new business development or sales roles, preferably within the chemicals, ingredients or manufacturing sectors
- Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities and convert prospects into long-term clients
- Robust understanding of the performance chemicals and industry,



including market dynamics, customer requirements and competitive landscape
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate value propositions clearly
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with a results-oriented approach to achieving sales targets
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and drive business forward without close supervision
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools to manage pipeline and reporting
