About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Trainer & Assessor to join our mining and civil construction operations team. You will play a critical role in developing workforce capability, maintaining compliance, and supporting a strong safety culture across site operations.
This position is responsible for delivering, assessing, and coordinating training programs for mining and civil construction personnel, ensuring employees are competent, compliant, and equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nationally recognised and site-based training programs.
- Conduct competency assessments in accordance with training package requirements and company standards.
- Facilitate inductions, refresher training, and verification of competency (VOC) assessments.
- Maintain accurate training records and competency matrices.
- Develop and review training materials, procedures, and assessment tools.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to operators in the field.
- Support supervisors and operational leaders in identifying training and development needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, RTO standards, site safety requirements, and company policies.
- Participate in audits and compliance activities relating to workforce training and competency.
About you:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience as a Trainer & Assessor within the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of competency-based training and assessment principles.
- Experience conducting workplace assessments and VOCs.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High level of computer literacy, including experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
