Wattle Range Council is a local community focused organisation which seeks to encourage and support local employment. Together with GTE Apprenticeships | Traineeships we are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and career-minded applicants for a full time, 3-year Traineeship undertaking a Certificate III in Horticulture, located in the Wattle Range Council area and based in Penola.

Personal Requirements:

- Have a real interest in gardening.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Like working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A current driver’s license is essential.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual laborious tasks.
- An MR Truck license is desirable but not essential.
- Successful completion of Year 12 is desirable but not essential.

Duties will include:

- Maintaining parks, footpaths and gardens.
- Apply treatments to improve plant growth and control pests.
- Maintaining plants and planted areas.
- Use of plant and equipment such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, and edging machines etc.
- Maintaining cemeteries and playgrounds.
