Hays is partnering with a growing, community-focused organisation to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner based on the Southside of Brisbane. Following a period of rapid growth, this organisation is seeking a pragmatic people professional who can provide hands-on HR leadership and partner closely with leaders to support workforce capability, employee engagement and organisational performance.

Your new role

- Reporting into the leadership team, you will operate as a trusted advisor across the organisation, providing both strategic and operational HR support. This role offers significant variety and visibility, requiring someone who is equally comfortable operating strategically and rolling up their sleeves to support day-to-day HR matters.
- Providing advice on employee relations and industrial relations matters
- Coaching leaders through performance management, workplace investigations and difficult conversations
- Interpreting and advising on Fair Work legislation and SCHADS Award provisions
- Supporting WorkCover, injury management and return-to-work processes
- Reviewing and enhancing HR policies, procedures and documentation
- Supporting organisational change, workforce planning and capability initiatives
- Building leadership capability and strengthening people management practices
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and child safety requirements




- Acting as the central point of contact for generalist HR support across the business

What you'll need to succeed

- To be successful, you will bring demonstrated experience in a broad HR Business Partnering, Senior HR Advisory or HR Management role, along with strong employee relations capability and the confidence to partner with leaders at all levels.
- Strong employee relations and industrial relations capability
- Experience managing performance matters, misconduct and workplace investigations
- Sound knowledge of Fair Work legislation and employment compliance
- Exposure to SCHADS Award environments or similar industrial frameworks
- Experience within community services, disability, health, aged care or the broader not-for-profit sector
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused and hands-on approach to HR
- Candidates with experience supporting unionised workforces and growing organisations will be highly regarded.
