The Role

Eye Surgery Associates (ESA) is seeking an experienced and people‑centred HR Business Partne r to strengthen leadership capability, support a positive employee experience, and ensure consistent, best‑practice HR across multiple sites (East Melbourne, Malvern, Doncaster, Vermont South).

Working 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week ), you will provide practical, timely and strategic HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy development, governance and leadership capability.

You will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive team, helping embed ESA’s values and people‑centred culture. This role suits a confident HR practitioner who enjoys variety, autonomy and partnering closely with leaders in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with the CEO and Executive to embed ESA’s values and people‑centred leadership behaviours
- Coach managers to build psychologically safe, inclusive and high‑performing teams
- Lead end‑to‑end recruitment and support workforce planning
- Oversee onboarding, induction and 90‑day check‑ins
- Provide practical HR advice on performance,



conduct and day‑to‑day people matters
- Ensure HR practices align with the Fair Work Act, Awards, WHS obligations and ESA policies
- Maintain HR policies and support HRIS implementation
- Deliver simple workforce reporting (turnover, recruitment activity, onboarding metrics
- Travel between ESA sites to support leaders and ensure consistent people practices
- Support leadership capability through coaching, tools and structured conversations

About You You’ll thrive in this role if you are relationship‑driven, proactive and confident in your HR judgement. You bring:

- 4+ years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisors
- Robust capability in recruitment, onboarding, ER/IR, coaching and workforce planning
- Experience supporting people‑centred leadership and culture initiatitives
- Proven knowledge of Awards, EBAs and Australian employment laws
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and advisory skills
- Experience with HRIS implementation or optimisation
- HR qualifications (highly regarded)
- Ability to work and travel between multiple sites and supporting leaders in different locations
