Northeast Engineering is expanding and seeking a hands-on Team Leader to run our Final Fitment Hydraulic and Plating Section in Adelaide (on-site, full-time), overseeing the critical stage where premium truck bodies and hydraulic systems come together on OEM truck chassis. This role suits a mechanically solid leader who thrives on problem solving, coaching a team, and delivering high-quality builds, while working on the tools and driving consistent, high-standard outcomes in a growing business What You’ll Lead Our Final Fitment team completes the installation and hydraulic integration of: Tipper bodies & trailers

Tilt‑sliders

Crane trucks

Hooklifts

Skiploaders

Chassis preparation for body mounting You’ll coordinate workflow, support the team with technical challenges, and ensure every build leaves the workshop safe, compliant, and finished to a high standard. What You’ll Be Doing Leading and mentoring a small team of fitters and apprentices

Overseeing mechanical and hydraulic fitment on truck chassis

Ensuring compliance with ADRs, OEM guidelines, and internal QA standards

Conducting inspections, testing, and sign‑off

Driving efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across the section What You Bring Trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, etc.)

Strong experience with hydraulic systems and truck body fitment

Proven leadership capability in a workshop or manufacturing environment

Ability to read drawings and hydraulic schematics A commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork Bonus points for crane/PTO experience, forklift/dogging tickets, or exposure to lean/5S.
