Northeast Engineering is seeking skilled Hydraulic Trades Assistants to join our energetic Burton team, supporting the build and fitment of high-quality customised truck bodies and hydraulic systems for clients across Australia.

About The Role As a Hydraulic Trades Assistant your primary focus is assisting qualified tradespeople with the fabrication, fitment, and installation of hydraulic systems, truck bodies, and accessories.

Key responsibilities Assisting with the fitment and installation of hydraulic systems and components

Supporting the build and fitment of tippers, bin lifts, water carts, and related equipment

Assisting with hydraulic hose fitment, pumps, valves, cylinders, and custom mounted components

Supporting fabrication, assembly, drilling, grinding, and general workshop duties

Assisting qualified tradespeople in all aspects of their duties

Operating and maintaining tools, machinery, and workshop equipment

Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean working environment

Performing quality checks and reporting issues appropriately

Supporting with general labouring tasks as required About You To be successful in this role you will need: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

Experience or interest in hydraulics, fabrication, or truck body fitment

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals (desirable)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Commitment to workplace safety

Forklift Licence (desirable)
