Working directly with growers, processors, researchers and government, you will help strengthen industry productivity, resilience and biosecurity while delivering projects that have practical, on-farm impact.
Potatoes Tasmania is a grower-led industry body focused on improving productivity, sustainability and resilience. We bring industry together to identify priorities, secure investment and deliver practical outcomes that benefit the whole sector.

- Fixed-term appointment aligned with funding.

The Opportunity Our preferred outcome is to appoint one outstanding person to a full-time role combining industry biosecurity leadership with project delivery. However, we recognise exceptional candidates may bring strengths in different areas.
- One full-time Industry Biosecurity & Projects Lead;
OR
- Part time Industry Biosecurity Lead; and
- Part-time Project Officer.
OR
- Consulting services (by negotiation) based on desired position outcomes.

What You'll Do
- Lead potato industry biosecurity preparedness and response.
- Coordinate Biosecurity Fund initiatives and industry priorities.
- Develop and deliver strategic productivity and R&D; projects.
- Build trusted relationships across industry and government.
- Represent Potatoes Tasmania on key committees and forums.
- Communicate technical information in practical, grower-focused ways.
- Support grants, reporting and organisational governance.

Who We're Looking For
- Experience in biosecurity, agriculture, natural resource management, project management or industry development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and project coordination capability.
- A collaborative, practical and self-motivated approach.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within Tasmania.
