In this influential role, you’ll work closely with industry leaders, employers, training providers, unions and government stakeholders to identify workforce challenges, gather industry intelligence, and help shape the future of skills development across Australia’s manufacturing sector.

About Us The Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance is an industry-owned, industry-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to addressing the workforce and skills challenges facing Australia’s manufacturing sector.

As the operator of the Manufacturing Jobs and Skills Council, we work collaboratively with employers, unions, governments, training providers and learners to build a skilled workforce for today and the future.

Our work includes:

- Identifying current and future workforce and skills needs.
- Developing nationally recognised VET training products.
- Mapping career pathways across education sectors.
- Supporting collaboration between industry and training providers.
- Providing trusted workforce intelligence and industry insights.

About the Role Reporting to the Manager Stakeholder Engagement, you’ll join a collaborative team of Industry Engagement Partners responsible for strengthening relationships across the manufacturing sector.





Working closely with our Workforce Intelligence and Training Products & Projects teams, you’ll engage with stakeholders to understand workforce challenges, identify emerging trends, and provide valuable insights that help shape national skills and training priorities.

You’ll represent the Manufacturing Alliance across industry forums, consultations and events, while promoting workforce initiatives, career pathways and training opportunities that support Australia’s manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

As an Industry Engagement Partner, you will:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders across Australia.
- Gather workforce intelligence and industry insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Research emerging workforce trends and prepare high-quality industry intelligence briefs.
- Represent the Manufacturing Alliance at industry events, meetings and stakeholder forums.
- Work closely with industry partners, training providers and government stakeholders to support collaboration.
- Promote manufacturing career pathways, workforce initiatives and national training products.
- Monitor stakeholder satisfaction and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies, consultation activities and stakeholder mapping.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to support organisational priorities.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure stakeholder insights inform projects and initiatives.





About You We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Australia’s manufacturing sector and thrives on building trusted relationships.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

- A strong understanding of the Australian manufacturing industry and the challenges and opportunities it faces.
- Experience delivering stakeholder engagement, consultation or partnership activities.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare well-researched reports, industry insights and briefing papers.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgement and initiative.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently.

Desirable

- Tertiary qualifications or significant industry experience in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, or the ability to develop this knowledge quickly.
