About the Role The Infrastructure Support Manager leads COSOL's infrastructure support function, ensuring the reliable delivery, performance, and security of IT infrastructure services across internal operations and client environments. This role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing a team of infrastructure and support specialists to deliver high-quality, responsive, proactive support.
You'll work closely with capability leads, delivery, technical, and commercial teams to maintain service standards, manage incidents, and contribute to infrastructure strategy and continuous improvement.
This role is based in Albury, with strong consideration also given to candidates based in Canberra or Melbourne. What You'll Do
Infrastructure Management & Operations
Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of infrastructure environments — servers, networks, storage, cloud platforms, AI tools, and end-user systems
Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patches, and deployments
Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, asset registers, and configuration records
Monitor infrastructure health and capacity, identifying and addressing risks before they impact operations
Evaluate and recommend infrastructure solutions that align with business needs and technology direction
Support Services & Service Delivery
Manage the delivery of IT support services across internal teams and client environments
Ensure support requests, incidents, and escalations are triaged, prioritised, and resolved within agreed timeframes
Own and maintain service management processes including incident, problem, change,
and request management
Develop and monitor SLAs and key performance metrics, reporting regularly to leadership
Identify recurring issues and lead root cause analysis to reduce repeat incidents and drive service improvement
Client Engagement
Act as a key point of contact for clients on infrastructure and support matters, maintaining strong working relationships
Communicate clearly with clients on service performance, incidents, and planned maintenance activities
Identify opportunities to improve or expand infrastructure support services for clients
Manage client expectations and ensure issues are resolved to a satisfactory standard
Security & Compliance
Ensure infrastructure environments are managed in line with COSOL's information security obligations, including ISO 27001 requirements
Contribute to security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation activities
Ensure access controls, backup procedures, and disaster recovery practices are in place and tested regularly
Support internal and external audits and ensure findings are actioned within agreed timeframes
Strategy & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the development of COSOL's infrastructure roadmap and technology strategy
Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency, resilience, and cost-effectiveness
Stay current with emerging technologies, vendor developments, and industry best practice
Lead or contribute to infrastructure-related projects and initiatives What You'll Bring
Tertiary qualification in IT, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in an infrastructure management or senior technical role, with exposure to people leadership
Strong technical knowledge across on-premise, cloud, networking, and end-user computing
Experience managing IT support functions/service desk operations, including SLA management
Familiarity with ITIL or equivalent service management frameworks
Experience with ISO 27001 or similar security frameworks (desirable)
Relevant technical certifications — Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, or equivalent (desirable)
