About the Role
Austin Engineering is seeking an experienced and proactive Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our national HR team, based at our Head Office in Kewdale. This is an exciting opportunity for a recruitment professional who is passionate about sourcing, attracting, and securing top talent across a diverse portfolio of blue- and white-collar roles. Reporting to the National HR Lead whilst working within a supportive and collaborative HR team, you will partner closely with leaders across the business to deliver end-to-end recruitment solutions across the business. With the autonomy to make the role your own, you'll help attract and secure the talent that underpins Austin Engineering's continued success. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust stakeholder relationships, connecting great people with great opportunities, and taking ownership of recruitment outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the primary recruitment contact for Australian business units, partnering with leaders to understand workforce requirements, develop job briefs, and delivering effective hiring solutions.
- Managing end-to-end recruitment across a diverse range of blue- and white-collar roles, from sourcing and attraction through to offer and onboarding.
- Conducting recruitment activities including candidate sourcing, shortlisting, phone screening, interview coordination, reference checking, right-to-work verification, medical assessments, and arranging technical trade testing where required.
- Providing guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process, ensuring a positive experience for both managers and candidates.
- Coordinating onboarding activities and delivering HR inductions to ensure new employees are welcomed, compliant, and set up for success.
- Supporting managers with position creation and approval processes within HRIS system Workday, while maintaining accurate vacancy and recruitment records.
- Maintaining strong relationships with labour hire providers and external recruitment partners to ensure timely access to quality talent and workforce solutions.
- Working closely with Safety and HR to ensure induction and compliance requirements are completed prior to commencement.
- Assisting with HR administration and contributing to people-related projects and continuous improvement activities as required.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment, with a strong track record of delivering successful hiring outcomes across multiple roles and disciplines.
- Experience recruiting for both blue- and white-collar positions, ideally within mining, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry.
- Strong candidate sourcing, networking, and talent attraction skills, with experience managing multiple vacancies simultaneously.
- Experience using recruitment and HR systems, with Workday and LinkedIn Recruiter experience highly regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
- An interest in broader HR activities and a willingness to contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Qualifications in Business, Human Resources, Psychology,
or a related discipline are highly regarded but not essential.
