Senior Accounts Officer – Construction Industry Laverton North | Permanent Opportunity

Are you an experienced Senior Accounts Officer with a background in the construction, crane hire, transport or civil industries? HOBAN Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Australian business to recruit a hands-on finance professional to join their close-knit team in Laverton North. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a stable organisation replacing a long-standing employee who is retiring.

Construction industry experience is essential for this role, as you'll be working with industry-specific payroll requirements, project-based accounting and a fast-paced operational environment.

About the Role

- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Weekly payroll processing for approximately 60 employees (increasing to around 100 during peak periods)
- Bank and account reconciliations
- General ledger maintenance
- Supporting month-end processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero
- Providing general finance and administration support to the business

About You

- Demonstrated experience in a Senior Accounts Officer, Accounts & Payroll Officer or Bookkeeper role
- Previous experience within the construction, crane hire, civil, transport or a related industry (essential)
- Solid experience across Accounts Receivable,



Accounts Payable and payroll
- Experience processing payroll for a mixed permanent and casual workforce
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work autonomously while working collaboratively within a small team
- Experience using Xero or the ability to quickly learn new accounting systems
