About the role

AMIGA Montessori Mount Waverley is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead and deliver a high-quality funded kindergarten program.

About the Role

As the Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating an engaging kindergarten program that reflects the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and incorporates Montessori principles.

You will work closely with educators, families and the leadership team to create an inclusive, calm and purposeful learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities

- Leading the planning and delivery of the funded kindergarten program
- Developing meaningful learning experiences based on children's interests, strengths and developmental needs
- Completing observations, assessments and documentation to support children's learning
- Building positive and respectful relationships with children and families
- Supporting school readiness and children's transition to school
- Mentoring and guiding educators within the kindergarten environment
- Contributing to the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan
- Ensuring the program meets all regulatory, funding and compliance requirements
- Maintaining a strong understanding of child safety, mandatory reporting and duty of care obligations
- Creating an inclusive environment that respects each child’s culture,



identity and individual needs

Experience within a Montessori environment is highly regarded; however, training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

About You

- A completed Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification
- Current VIT registration
- Proven experience supporting or leading a funded kindergarten program
- Strong knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
- A sound understanding of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards
- Robust documentation, planning and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing
- The ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively with educators
- A calm, respectful and child-centred approach
