We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Technician to join our growing team based in Mildura, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to growers in relation to crop production, soil management and agricultural technologies.
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot agricultural technology and equipment used in crop production.
- Conduct field trials and product evaluations to assess the performance of fertilisers, soil conditioners, bio-stimulants and horticultural products.
- Collect, record and analyse field data, preparing technical reports and recommendations.
- Monitor crop performance, soil conditions and field trial outcomes.
- Assist with research, testing and product development activities.
- Diagnose technical issues and recommend practical solutions to improve crop performance.
- Support the implementation of precision agriculture and other advanced farming technologies.
- Liaise with growers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver technical advice and ongoing support.
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical guidance to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, trial results and service reports.
- Travel throughout the region to visit customers and trial sites as required.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Sound knowledge of crop production systems, soil management and sustainable farming practices.
- Experience conducting field trials, collecting technical data and preparing reports.
- Experience using or supporting agricultural technologies, precision agriculture systems or related agricultural equipment.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency using computer software for technical reporting and data management.
