H.I.S. Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a dynamic and motivated Japanese Speaking Tour Coordinator to join our Cairns Branch on a Full-Time basis. We are the regional subsidiary of H.I.S. Co., Ltd—one of Japan’s leading travel organisations (https://his-oceania.co). Our mission is to promote global understanding and peace through tourism by bridging cultural, national, and religious differences.

In this role, you will process customer inquiries and bookings for travel arrangements including coach bookings, accommodation, day tours, car-hire, transfers; working over the telephone, on-line and face to face.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

- Answer queries from travel agents and offer suggestions on tours, travel routes, accommodation and local customs

- Provide literature and information on local tours and places of interest

- Assist travel agents in preparing itineraries for tourists

- Confirm travel and accommodation reservations and inform clients of bus, plane, ship and train connections; as well as notifying clients of travel dates, baggage limits, medical and visa requirements

- Provide information on tourist attractions or tours available,



and procedures regarding lost or stolen documents; as well as climates and customs, relevant government regulations and use of credit cards

- Provides in-depth information on particular sites

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- Experience in travel and/or tourism, preferably with an inbound tour operator (preferred but not essential)

- A strong background in retail and/or customer service

- Fluency in both English and Japanese

- Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities

- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities
- A positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach

- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency. Student Visa and Working Holiday Maker visa holders are not eligible to apply.
