Part-Time Medical Receptionist to Rheumatology Practice

Hours: 17-18 hours per week (Wed 0800-1700, Fri 0800-1600/1700). Flexibility required to cover annual and sick leave.

This is a job share position.

We are seeking an experienced and professional Medical Receptionist to join our busy rheumatology specialist clinic in Dandenong. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and unsupervised.

Key Responsibilities

- Patient Management: Greet patients warmly, manage check-ins, and coordinate clinic flow.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage complex diaries and schedule specialist appointments.
- Communication: Answer incoming telephone enquiries and manage the practice email inbox.
- Billing and Dictation: Process Medicare, DVA, and private health claims via Eclipse/Lantern.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

- Industry Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of medical reception experience (specialist practice preferred).




- Software Proficiency: Experience using medical software packages, experience with Zedmed highly regarded but not essential
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication with a high level of empathy.
- Task Management: Strong ability to multitask, prioritize under pressure, and maintain high attention to detail. Ability to work unsupervised and manage tasks independently
- Professionalism: Understanding of strict patient confidentiality and privacy regulations. Demonstrate cooperative collegial behaviour with staff.
