We keep communities connected. We have an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Bid Writer to join our Service Stream Chatswood team!

The key responsibilities for this role are intrinsically linked to the ongoing development of AI tools to support the development of our work winning proposals. This role will support the work undertaken by subject matter experts (SME) in the completion of compelling, winning solutions to tenders. Key Responsibilities - Bid Preparation: Review tender documentation and identify key evaluation criteria and source relevant information from internal and external sources to provide SME with key information to assist in the development of a winning strategy.

- Content Development: Use AI tools to develop response templates based on the tender requirements.
- Collaborate with SME to review and update draft responses with the relevant technical and operational information to document the finalised winning solution.
- Review responses to ensure that solutions and benefits are detailed in clear, concise, and easily understandable language. Check that all information is relevant, well-structured, and aligned with the tender requirements.
- Proposal Coordination: Support the maintenance of a central repository of bid-related documents, templates, and past responses for future reference and knowledge sharing.



Support quality assurance reviews to ensure the bid is error‑free, coherent, and effectively communicates the organisation's value proposition. Ensure compliance with all tender requirements, including formatting guidelines, submission instructions, and contractual obligations.
- Relationship Building: Collaborate closely with internal teams and our supply chain to gather accurate and up-to-date information for bid development. Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and timely responses to queries related to bid submissions. Attend pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and clarification sessions to gain a deeper understanding of client requirements and foster strong relationships.

About

You - Solid written communication skills with the ability to structure information clearly and concisely.

- Ability to read and understand technical and operational documentation.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and templates precisely.
- Demonstrated interest in, and confidence using, AI tools for writing, research, develop response templates and develop first draft responses.
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills, particularly under deadline pressure.
- Experience working in a team setting and with different discipline groups.
- Experience using document management systems, SharePoint, or bid libraries (desirable).
- Experience working for a Transport Infrastructure Services contractor or provider (desirable).




- Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Publishing, Business, Commerce or a related discipline (desirable).
