READY TO STEP OFF THE TOOLS AND INTO PROJECT MANAGEMENT? Adept Project Solutions is looking for a practical and motivated tradesperson ready to take the next step into project management.
This position would suit an experienced shopfitter, carpenter, cabinetmaker, leading hand or site supervisor who understands how construction works and wants to build a long-term career managing commercial fitout projects.
Previous experience with the title “Project Manager” is not essential. What matters is that you understand sites, can read drawings, communicate well and take responsibility for getting things done.

Adept Project Solutions is an established national shopfitting company based in Bayswater. We deliver retail and commercial fitouts across Australia for recognised national brands.
With a strong pipeline of recently awarded projects, we are expanding our project delivery team.

Working directly with our directors and experienced project managers, you will be trained across the full project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will gradually include:
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project scopes
- Assisting with project planning and construction programs
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Ordering materials and arranging deliveries
- Attending site meetings, inspections and site measures
- Monitoring project progress, costs and deadlines
- Assisting with variations and project documentation
- Resolving practical site issues
- Managing defects and project handover
- Keeping clients and the Adept team informed throughout each project
This is a hands-on role combining office-based project coordination with regular site involvement.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who has:
- A background in shopfitting, carpentry, cabinetmaking or commercial construction
- The ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- A practical approach to solving problems
- Good computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems
- The confidence to deal with trades, suppliers and clients
- A current driver’s licence
- A White Card
Leading-hand, supervisory or site coordination experience will be highly regarded, but formal project-management experience is not required. WHY JOIN ADEPT?
- Genuine pathway from the tools into project management
- Direct training and mentoring from experienced directors
- Exposure to significant national retail projects
- A diverse role across the office, sites and project meetings
- Real responsibility as your experience develops
- Long-term career progression within a growing national company
- Salary package based on your trade and construction experience
If you are an experienced tradesperson who knows you are capable of more and wants to build a career in project management, we would like to hear from you. Please apply with your resume and a brief introduction outlining your trade background and why you are ready to move into project management.
